             Want More Energy ??

Everything comes down to energy. We need energy to function and most people feel they don’t have
enough. Why do we sometimes have more or less of it….. and where does it come from?

To understand how energy is produced and how it affects your mind, behavior and health, we must start
with the energy produced in the ‘mighty mitochondria” ….the engine of each cell. A single cell may have
anywhere from two hundred to two thousand or more mitochondria. Mitochondria are built to convert
calories and oxygen into energy the body can use. Free radicals from poor dietary habits lead to oxidative
stress which in turn damages our mitochondria. Our mitochondria need to be fed calories from a healthy
diet. A diet with lots of fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants. Antioxidants render free radicals non-
toxic.

Your fork is the most powerful tool you have to improve on the energy produced by your mitochondria.
Use it wisely otherwise you will suffer. More scientific evidence points to the power of food as medicine.
Whole, real, unprocessed diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, and seed, small omega
-3-containing fish like sardines and herring, and lean animal protein.

If you are following these recommendations, then you are doing 90% of what you need to do to nurture and
support your “mighty mitochondria” and stay healthy!
