FEATURED SHOP: DANZO GROUP, INC.
The two remained friends through high school, and when
they were 21, they decided to make a go of cabinetry and
woodworking.
“I had a table saw and other tools in my dad’s garage, and
Brandon had a truck with tools, and we just started a business,”
Danielsen says.
The business grew slowly and organically. “We spent a couple
of years working out of the garage, doing small jobs and a
friend gave us a kitchen to do, which was one of our bigger jobs,”
he recalls.
Then the Palisades job catapulted them to the next level.
From their 3,000-square-foot home base in Baldwin Park,
about 20 miles from Los Angeles, they have made a name for
themselves within the custom cabinet industry as quality,
reliable general contractors. Danielsen received his general
contractor’s license at the age of 22, the youngest possible age

“It’s a big challenge for us,” Danielsen says. “A lot of people
would turn down this job, but we have the proper machinery
and creative drive to complete a complex project like this.
“If you can dream it up, we’ll tackle it,” he says, then adds,
“within reason.”
While the Danzo Group team loves interesting challenges,
most of its work involves high-end kitchens.
“Our bread and butter is straight custom work,” Danielsen says.
“If you want an IKEA kitchen, then we’re not going to get the
job. We use the best materials available out there and whatever
a client can envision, we’ll make it happen. We work a lot in
Pasadena, which is a more traditional area, so that involves a
lot of custom woodwork, but I do suggest alternative modern
materials that have recently become more popular.”
But Danielsen says it’s not the quality of the material they use
that sets them apart with clients.
“A $70 sheet of plywood compared to a $50 sheet or even
