EDITOR’S LETTER
A NEW LEAF
here’s something magical about taking chances, because
within moments of uncertainty, there is also the greatest
possibility of crafting a beautiful, new life. “The greatest
Tdiscovery of all time is that a person can change his [or
her] future by merely changing his [or her] attitude,” American talk
show host Oprah Winfrey once said, and I couldn’t agree more.
Christian As we draw to the end of 2022, Bazaar India celebrates the dreamers
Louboutin
Yasefir and doers who took a chance on themselves and recharted their lives
Pumps, for a better, more glorious future. Covergirl Ananya Panday—who was
`1,62,400 last on the cover of Bazaar India exactly two years ago—has come a

long way since we spoke last. “My mindset has completely changed—
I’m thinking a lot differently, feeling a lot differently. My goals are
different. At the core of it, I’m still the same but I’m stronger. And a lot
more comfortable with myself. And I’m proud of that...” Ananya shares
in an intimate conversation with Bazaar India, her words echoing the
sentiments of those who have emerged stronger over the past few years.
Another icon who was once the ‘It’ party girl—businesswoman,
musician, and media wiz, Paris Hilton—shot with us exclusively in
Mumbai, while promoting her latest perfume launch, Ruby Rush. And
when we sat down to speak, Paris revealed how her very definition of
what’s ‘hot’ [remember her catchphrase from the 2000s, ‘That’s Hot!’?]
is diametrically opposite from when she was younger. “‘Hot’, to me, is
different from it was when I was younger. Today, I think legislation is
‘hot’...standing up for other people, making a difference and an impact
in the world, and really just carrying on my family’s legacy of
philanthropic work. I think that’s what’s ‘hot’.” Inspiring, to say the least,
but also proof that people, perspectives, and preoccupations evolve all
the time...
In the pages of this issue, you’ll also find wise words from a
heartthrob—the hugely popular Telugu filmstar, Vijay Deverakonda.
The 33-year-old’s rising popularity has swept across the country, but
Vijay is pushing himself to explore more... “The old me is constantly
changing and adapting to the new life, new challenges, and new
ambitions,” he tells us. “My mind is always in search of purpose,
excitement, happiness, and satisfaction...to find meaning, to learn, and
for a better, simpler way of life,” Vijay told Bazaar India.
As the December issue of Bazaar India brings the year to a close,
I hope the pages within inspire you to look at life from a fresh
perspective, and realign your goals for the New Year...to chase after what
EDITOR you deeply desire, and truly deserve. It’s time to ring out the old, and
HARPER’S BAZAAR INDIA make way for the new.
