BITING BACK

Welsh international Rhodri Lloyd S TRAIGHTFORWARD is most certainly one
word you can’t use to describe Swinton Lions’
preparations for the 2020 campaign.
Following a strong finish to last season,
looks back on a tumultuous with eight wins in their last 14 matches and
a ninth-place finish in the Championship
off-season at Swinton but still secured, the future looked extremely promising for
the Lions’ young, up-and-coming squad.
Not only were matters on the field shaping up
nicely, but the club were set to enter a brand-new era,
believes the Lions will be ready with Andy Mazey and his board of directors planning
to rebrand the club as Manchester Lions in the hope
to roar once the 2020 campaign of providing a more prosperous future by enticing
more commercial revenue among other reasons.
There was a spanner in the works, however, as
gets underway. nearly the entire board decided to step down on the
back of a great deal of opposition to the rebrand,
including alleged threats of violence.
