Gomati Joshi
Gomati Joshi is a civil engineer tuned artist from Bangalore. She runs an
art institute called Arty Facets where all forms arts (including music,
musical instruments, art, craft are taught children as well as adults) are
taught. When she thought of turning her passion into profession, she
started making terracotta jewellery on orders and soon her designs became
popular and she had her hands full. She ships her Jewellery across the
country as per orders. They say, the journey of a thousand miles begins
with a single step. Her artistic journey began when she left her well-paying
job to follow her passion. She started making Jewellery, candles and other
handicrafts and started participating in various exhibitions. Soon she
wanted to reach out to people who had similar interests and to make an
effort to bring all the arts and craft forms under one roof, she started her
institute 'Arty Facets' a decade ago. What started with just two teachers
and two students has over 150 students today and 15 teachers across 15
disciplines. India has a long cultural history attached to it and our arts and
crafts are as old as us and Gomati believes that it is very important to
preserve and nurture our traditional art forms.
At Arty Facets, they have a plethora of art classes to choose ;
basic clay modelling to intricate pottery work, candle making to Jewellery
making, Indian classical music, Musical Instruments, Classical dance to
Bollywood dancing and various other craft forms.
