BASTILLE DAY
Smart Indian School celebrated the National Day of France, better known as
Bastille Day or Le Quatorze Juillet. The event dates back to the French Revolution
started in 1789 in the history of France. The virtual celebration kicked off with the
French National Anthem – ‘La Marseillaise’. The enthusiastic students started the
preparations from June. They made posters and lapbooks showing the rich cultural
heritage of France. It was a great experience for each and every one.
The children participated in the activities cheerfully and grades 1 to 5 took part in
colouring activity of the French flag. The digital platform shimmered the colours of
the French flag in the students’ costume. The national anthem was also sung in the
way the French follow it by having their unique hand posture. The students from
grades 6 to 11 took part in quiz competition and two students from grades 6 to 8
explained the importance of Bastille Day. The day turned out to be a memorable and
enlightening one.
