Sustainable development is a critical issue of our time
and requires analysis and informed decision making .
The following five units in this course connect biology,
agriscience, and sustainability by focusing on the
science behind global issues .

Each unit immerses students in an issue that provides a realistic context related to
sustainability. Students review possible actions to address the issue, analyze the
associated evidence, then consider the trade-offs of each action .
