Students will find that many of the issues they will study in ISSUES AND LIFE SCIENCE
appear frequently in the media . IALS allows students to explore different phenomena and
societal issues, while giving them the opportunities to ask questions, engage in argument,
and construct their own explanations to these relevant storylines . These issues provide a
framework for student work and reflection and a context in which to understand concepts.
