Rishi. He collected and edited the Vedas, besides

authoring many Puranas and philosophical works.
He is the son of sage Parashara and Sathyavathi.

2. Kuru dynasty, originally the Lunar dynasty (Chandra

Vamsha), is so called after the great emperor Kuru.
