prefer to revise on their own. However, Ikin and Ada did mention of using collaborative
               learning approach.

“Mostly I read the lecture notes first. Then I read the reference books to gain extra
knowledge. Then I try to answer the questions given by the lecturer and other
               additional exercises.” (Zizi)

“By referring to notes and try to answer all past year questions. For homework and
assignments, I simply refer to notes and sometimes discuss with classmates. But, for
exam, I try answer all past year questions and make sure to memorise all important
               points.” (Ikin)

“I usually try doing it by my own first. If there are something that I can’t understand
or solve I try to ask my friend or my lecturer. Yes, for every subject. It is different for
               calculation and reading subject.” (Ada)

“I do light reading before the class session started. For homework I do practice
exercise. For the exam I often do simple notes and read it repeatedly.” (Yusop)

In addition, students shown to use different learning strategy to complete different
learning activity. For example, in preparation for examination, Ikin answers practice questions
and memorization. But to complete homework or assignment, Ikin would involve in group
discussion. Regardless of learning strategies chosen by students, this finding suggested they do
evaluate their learning strategy and are aware of their progress in learning. This also showed
that students can make careful judgement of which strategy is most suitable for which activity.

Students adopt same learning strategy since high school

Majority of students in this study said their learning strategy have not changed. As, Ada
and Syarizah pointed out the reason for this is if the same learning strategy still works why
               should they change it.

“Yes. I am comfortable with my learning strategy since high school. It helps me
               achieve good grade.” (As)

“Yes, because I think it work with me.” (Ada)

“Yes. because if I feels that strategy is work on me I will continue with it.” (Syarizah)

Students like Zizi did changed hers due to the inherent nature of biology subject.
According to Zizi, the topics in biology subject at matriculation are more difficult, so she must
change her learning strategy so that she can learn more effectively.

“I employ a different learning strategy than in high school because the topics is new
and harder here. I do more mind map here to make sure that all the ideas are
represented in a presentable way so that I can revise well.” (Zizi)

Whether students chose to or not to change their learning strategy, this already shown
that participants do possess the skills to analyse and judge the effectiveness of their learning
