Science India Forum Bahrain (SIF), a voluntary organization comprising
professionals in the field of Education, Science and Technology, has
before it is a number of laudable objectives. I am fortunate, to be invited
for the function organized by SIF “INDIA@70” to commemorate with
the birth anniversary of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam on 15th October 2016.
I had this, an opportunity to interact with its members, office bearers and
other persons of Indian Origin who are actively participating in its various
activities.
Using “Science“, in the broadest sense of modern context, SIF is
endeavoring to create interest in young children to understand Science
and apply Science and engineering for the benefit of human kind. I am
also glad that SIF members are active contributors for the economic
activities in Bahrain, being knowledge workers and entrepreneurs, as
well as responsible citizen. The young children I met are dynamic and
are keen to acquire and develop diverse skills required for the modern
globalized world.
In addition, the members of SIF are also active in understanding
the rich heritage of Indian Culture and its immense contribution
in various fields of knowledge including science, metallurgy,
engineering and architecture. By applying modern scientific
techniques and methodologies, one can explore and mine the
past knowledge, in order to adapt the relevant ones in the
modern context. This is a venture worth taking in addition
to the active direct contributions to the comment ongoing
global enterprise of knowledge creation in STEM, medicine
and agricultural sector.
I wish SIF well and congratulate the active harmony office
bearers.
