STAR PICTURE
Norway
o Working in Norway, I constantly see
fantastic roads and scenery with lots of
bikes enjoying them. So I decided to take
my Yamaha XJR1300 over with me
instead of flying. I live an hour north of
Inverness so it was quite a journey to
Newcastle, the ferry to Ijmuiden,
through the Netherlands to the ferry
from Denmark to Norway, then across
Norway from Langesund via the
mountain pass at Hemsedal (standing
snow in June while it was 20°C) and
finally to Bergen where I work. Leaving
on Wednesday afternoon, I arrived on
Sunday night after over 1500 miles and
with very stiff knees. Neil Robertson

Verdon Gorge, France Cheddar Gorge
o Here’s my old R1150GS Adventure p My wife Claire and I took a ride from
loaded up with camping gear and Essex to Western-super-Mare and then
having just passed 124,000 miles on on to Burnham-on-Sea, Barnstaple,
top of the Verdon Gorge a few weeks Westward Ho!, Wells and Wookey Hole

through the Pyrenees and then home Terry Hope

Just over 3500 miles and the old girl
never missed a beat. Brian Croston
Ronda, Spain
P A quick pitstop on the A397 from Marbella
to Ronda (on hire bikes) with Rik and Wayne
on a Ténéré 700, MT-09 and MT-10. The
Ténéré was the star, which surprised us all.
We can also recommend carrying on to El
Burgo on the A366. Dave Johnson
Pyrenees
o My pal Graham and I recently spent two
magnificent weeks in the Pyrenees. On the
way to the top of a ski resort, we also came
across some horses in the road. The
Pyrenees are an amazing place that every
rider should visit. Roger Davies
