Last year the Coast Guard reported 202 people
in the United States lost their lives participating
in paddlesports, including 42 while
canoeing. Be mindful of changing weather and
water conditions, don’t mix alcohol and
paddling, dress for cold-water immersion
and always wear your leash and a
Coast Guard approved life jacket.
