The City of Dayton is a fast growing city with a
big future. Located just 30 miles east of the larger
Houston’s metropolitan area on Highway 90, Dayton
is a friendly inclusive community, a great place to
live, work, and play - a place where families and
businesses can grow and prosper.
Six years ago Dayton was about 13 square miles,
within its city limits. Today we are about 32 square
miles and growing. So when we say we are a fast
growing community we mean it. As to the WHY
Dayton is a fast growing community is because
of our location and jobs. The Houston MSA is
an economically diverse 10 county metropolitan
area in which we reside. Dayton is located at
the intersection of 5 major roadways with the
intersection being in our downtown. On top of this
is the Grand Parkway (State Route 99) which is the
