leadership, research and policy. The study revealed inconsistent practices in relation to radiating
through wound dressings during cancer radiotherapy across Canada. Some evidence exists that
radiating through dressings may be acceptable under certain conditions. The study indicates that
patient preference, contextual factors and the goals of care direct clinical decision-making and
collaborative inter-professional practice. Radiation Therapy Nurses are at the frontline of these
direct patient care decisions. Finding our voice in organizational factors whilst working in inter-
professional teams can pave the way to better patient outcomes during a difficult time for them.
