Peripheral Blood:
LEUKOCYTES
Normal or slightly increased
Normal maturation and distribution
ERYTHROCYTES
Normal or slightly decreased
PLATELETS
Marked sustained thrombocytosis
Variation in size from tiny to giant
Bone Marrow:
Hypercellular with expansion of the megakaryo-
cyte pool
• Large megakaryocytes with abundant cyto-
plasm C
