This is my story;

            this is my song...

                 ur history, in the African tradition, used
                 to be told in benna, then in calypso.
         OSadly, as the art form became more
         politicized and polarizing, it began losing its
         prominence. But in its glory days, we relied on
         the barometer of calypso to remind us of what
         we are as a country; who we are as a people;
         and where we are in the process of building this
         Nation.
         So, we asked several aficionados and
         enthusiasts to look back and share with us
         their Top 5 patriotic songs since 1981. However,
         the contributors insisted that several nation-
         building classics released before that year
         simply could not be left out. Accordingly, here
         are their picks:

         Irvin Baptiste, Refrigeration Technician

         In Antigua – Rupert ‘Baba’ Blaize
         A Nation to Build; A Country to Mould – Joseph
         ‘Calypso Joe’ Hunte
         Our Pledge – Sir McLean ‘King Shortshirt’
         Emanuel
         Faithful Nationals – Julian ‘King Fyah’ Lawrence
         Antigua’s Independence – Sir Paul ‘King
         Obstinate’ Richards
