                                                  very November, dermatologists  throughout  the country gather together  for the
                                                  much-awaited annual convention. This year’s assembly was quite unparalleled as the
                                             EPhilippine Dermatological Society (PDS), in cooperation with the Asian Society for
                                              Pigment Cell Research (ASPCR), brought forth “Kaleidoscope of Pigmentary Disorders” –
                                              highlighting on the constant role of colorism and its mutations in modern society.

                                              Sixty-three  speakers  from  four  different  continents  expounded  on  their  different
                                              specialties and subspecialties. Topics ranged from pigmentary disorders like vitiligo in
                                              the pediatric patient to management of melasma and resistant hyperpigmentation.
                                              New  research  regarding  several  interesting  advancements  such  as  new  lasers
                                              in  pigmentation  were  shared  and  updated  by  the  lecturers.  A  workshop  on
                                              pigmentaroscopy was also conducted. The Perpetuo Gutierrez Memorial Lecturer was
                                              ISD’s Immediate Past President, Dr. Evangeline B. Handog.

                                              The event overall, stayed true to its theme. It was a chromatic event touching the
                                              procedural, cosmetic and pathological facets of dermatology.

                                              The fellowship night was a ‘kaleidoscope’ of its own, with its colorful dance production
                                              numbers admixed with special light effects and props. Befittingly themed GALA NIGHT
                                              2019 – Music Throughout the Decades, we were enthralled by the fashion show and
                                              the colorful costumes and garb of guests. Our invited artist-impersonators performed
                                              the likes of Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Michael J & Lady Gaga to the delight of our members
                                              and foreign guests.
