BUY THOSE THAT BUY US TM
A Seal Marking Commitment
to Minority Business Inclusion
TM
BUY THOSE THAT BUY US highlights the strong correlation between
sharing supplier diversity and minority business inclusion best
practices and ensuring purchasing decisions reect goals and
TM
objectives related to the utilization of minority businesses. BTTBU
highlights best practices and examples that demonstrate impact upon
the minority business' growth and capacity, as well success within the
buying entity's operations.
The initiative was designed by MBE leaders of the DFW MSDC and adopted by the Board of
Directors in 2007. The message of the much-copied initiative is even more relevant today than
TM
perhaps it was when rst initiated. BUY THOSE THAT BUY US encourages us to intentionally
spend our dollars with companies that believe in minority business inclusion. Even those
companies that produce business-to-business solutions should be supported and heralded for
their commitment to minority business inclusion. Throughout their supply chain they have
opportunity to include minority businesses. The Council leadership champions advocacy,
recognition and sharing on behalf of minority business inclusion as part of the core the
organization's existence.
TM
The BTTBU initiative was created with three core objectives:
1. To recognize those leading corporations and public-sector agencies that have developed
supplier diversity programs that deliver real minority business inclusion and utilization.
(There are more than a single Corporation of the Year that exemplify good work.)
2. To highlight best practices that deliver quantiable results.
3. To encourage people to buy (for business and personal use) from those that support
minority business inclusion.
