A meditative character has always dominated the art of Andras Ernszt. Based
on a multiple layered composition the audience can explore layer by layer the
deep relation the artist has to nature. Not only when using floral elements,
but in almost all his works one can recognize a landscape, a piece of nature -
or at least one can imagine watching one. Already in his earlier works Ernszt
has been working with patterns (textiles, curb stones) and rhythms. His
compositions are coloured but at the same time he is restricting the amount
of colours he is using. The result is a harmonious impression of a non-existent
reality - it might be alien yet it feels so familiar.
