Mission Nombre de Dios traces its origins to the frtomstaug@gmail.com
founding of the city of St. Augustine, America’s
oldest city. On Sept. 8, 1565, Pedro Menéndez Rector

Spain and the church. In the early 1600’s, a fr.erlin@missionandshrine.org
statue of Mary nursing the infant Jesus was
placed in the chapel and more than 400 years Associate to the Shrine
later, she graces the current chapel rebuilt in Rev. Julio Bedoya, ICC
1915. fr.julio@missionandshrine.org
The mission grounds are home to the historic In Residence
