Study the height of your classmates. Complete the table below by
guessing.

(a) The teacher divides the pupils into five groups. Determine the
tallest pupil in the groups.
[Guide: Each group needs to do the activities below.]
Draw one circle on the floor with a piece of chalk.
A pupil stands up straight in the circle.
A second pupil stands beside the first pupil. Compare the
height of the two pupils. Only the taller pupil can be in the
circle.
Continue step till the height of all the pupils in the group is
compared. [The last pupil standing in the circle is the tallest
in the group.]
(b) How can the three tallest pupils in the class be determined?
Discuss the ways and continue to find out the three tallest
pupils. Are your guesses in question 1 correct?
