It had poured continuously for over ten hours. The water as we had feared soon came in fast. We grabbed
our important documents and headed for the nearest school.
The water kept rising and within minutes the car stalled. My father abandoned the car in the middle
of the road. We opened the door and immediately the water surged towards us. We gasped in fear. Mother
grabbed our hands and we staggered ahead. Ming, my eldest brother who is the tallest among us strapped
the bag of important documents on his chest and braved the water.
After some twenty minutes we reached the school which was used as a relief centre. By then, the hall
was almost half filled with people. We finally saw some friends. All of us huddled together.
This is nature hitting back at us for not taking care of it.
