Teacher Sally and Teacher Normala want to buy pens and pencil cases as presents for pupils. They received quotations from two
stationery suppliers, A and B. Table 1 represents the number of pens and pencil cases needed by them while Table 2 represents
the price of a pen and a pencil case offered by the two suppliers.
Cikgu Sally dan Cikgu Normala hendak membeli pen dan kotak pensel sebagai hadiah kepada murid. Mereka mendapat sebut harga daripada
dua orang pembekal alat tulis, A dan B. Jadual 1 mewakili bilangan pen dan kotak pensel yang diperlukan oleh mereka manakala Jadual 2
mewakili harga sebatang pen dan sebuah kotak pensel yang ditawarkan oleh dua orang pembekal itu.

(a) Teacher Sally and Teacher Normala will make payment separately. Calculate the total payment needed to buy the presents
from supplier A and the total payment needed to buy the presents from supplier B. Show your calculation in the form of
matrix.
Cikgu Sally dan Cikgu Normala akan membuat bayaran secara berasingan. Hitung jumah bayaran yang diperlukan untuk membeli
hadiah itu daripada pembekal A dan jumlah bayaran yang diperlukan untuk membeli hadiah itu daripada pembekal B. Tunjukkan
pengiraan anda dalam bentuk matriks.
(b) Which supplier should Teacher Normala opt for? Explain your answer. HOTS Evaluating

Teacher Sally needs to pay RM270 to buy the presents from supplier A and RM264 to buy the presents from supplier
B. Teacher Normala needs to pay RM275 to buy the presents from supplier A and RM280 to buy the presents from
supplier B.
Cikgu Sally perlu membayar RM270 untuk membeli hadiah daripada pembekal A dan RM264 untuk membeli hadiah daripada
pembekal B. Cikgu Normala perlu membayar RM275 untuk membeli hadiah daripada pembekal A dan RM280 untuk membeli
hadiah daripada pembekal B.
(b) Teacher Normala should opt for supplier A because the total payment needed is less than supplier B.
Cikgu Normala harus pilih pembekal A kerana jumlah bayaran yang diperlukan adalah kurang daripada pembekal B.
