(a) A total of 72 pieces of red and white balloons were used to decorate a stage. If
35 pieces were white, how many red balloons were used for the decoration?

(b) 15 boys and a number of girls were selected to represent the school for a
language competition. The total number of pupils selected are 42. Calculate the
number of girls selected.

(c) Teacher Maznan bought some notebooks. After giving 15 notebooks to his
pupils, he has 29 notebooks left. Calculate the number of notebooks bought by
him.
