              I was ecstatic! I helped in scoring a goal but the other team     5.  B

              were up against the runners-up  and the match ended  in a
              loss for us. But it was a keenly fought match, or so said the   Practice  4
              coach. We played a number of matches, some losses, some
              draws and some wins.  All in all, we had more wins than     1.  D
              losses or draws. Most of the reserves had been called upon
              to join the First XI. I played  a total of seven games which     2.  B

                 Then it was the day of the semi-finals. We had notched     4.  C
              even points to enter the semi-finals and this was to be the     5.  D
              match which would put us in the finals. Never was the school
              team so close to becoming the champion. The day dawned.     6.  D
              We were excited but we were calm. We had to keep our     7.  A
              strengths  and  hopes  flying  high.  The  match  started  slow,     8.  D
              then, it built up to a frenzy.  Many times, we were within
              inches of scoring but failed. Both teams were attacking and

              of me. In a dream, I followed  it through, outrunning  my
              opponents and avoiding the  defenders  as  I  raced towards
              the goalmouth and then, it happened! The football slid right   Practice  1
              past the goalkeeper and stopped between the goalposts!
                 There was a thunderous applause. I had scored a goal.     1.  C
