(a) The diagram below shows the time in London and Malaysia at the same time.

London Malaysia
7:45 a.m. 3:45 p.m.

Based on the diagram above, calculate the time difference between London and
Malaysia. PL 4

Beza masa = 3:45 p.m. − 7:45 a.m.
= 15 jam 45 minit − 7 jam 45 minit
= 8 jam

(b) Hakim lives in Malaysia and he has a pen-friend in Argentina. Argentina is located to
the west side of Malaysia and the time difference between Argentina and Malaysia is
11 hours.
(i) Given that the time in Argentina is 2:15 p.m., Tuesday. What is the time in
Malaysia? PL 4

Waktu di Malaysia = 2:15 p.m. + 11 jam
= 14 jam 15 minit + 11 jam
= 25 jam 15 minit
= 1:15 a.m., Rabu

(ii) Is it reasonable for Hakim to contact his pen-friend at 2:35 p.m., Sunday at
Malaysia time? Give your reason. PL 5

= 3 jam 35 minit
= 3:35 a.m., Sabtu
