the evening, he went for a stroll with his grandfather. He saw
a chicken coop at the back of his grandfather’s house. The
diagram at the side shows what had been seen by Ammar
in the coop.

(c) State two ways on how this chicken cares for its young after hatching.

(d) Three days later, the eggs hatched. Ammar went to the chicken coop area to see
the chicks but he was chased by the chicken. Why does the chicken behave like
that?

2. Diagram below shows a food chain in an area of grass f eld.

(a) State the producer and consumers in the food chain above.

(b) If all of the grass is cut and the f eld is cleared, what would happen to the number
of animals in that area? Give your reasons.

(c) After a few years, the grass f eld area is not being cared and the grasses grow
again. Predict the number of animals there. Give your reasons.
