1) We use ‘the’ when we speak of the same thing again.
当我们再次提及同样的事物时，可使用‘the’。
e.g. I have a dog. The dog is a poodle.

2) We also use ‘the’ when there is only one such thing.

e.g. The sun is shining brightly today.

3) ‘the’ is not used:
‘the’ 不会应用在：
before names of people
人的名字之前
e.g. Zeya is a clever girl.
before names of festivals
节日的名称之前
e.g. Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year.

before days of the week
一周的七天之前
e.g. Today is Saturday.

before months of the year
月份之前
e.g. National Day is in August.
