ART DEPARTMENT

COBIS competition
Students from YRs 7, 8 and 9 took part in the COBIS
Art competition entitled “Introduce Yourself”. Many
creative ideas were developed in paintings, drawings,
a ‘Pop-up’ book and a 3D ‘Rollercoaster of Life’. A
big congratulations to everyone who took part, the
standard was very high. Well done!

Artist of the Month
This year the Art Department introduced ‘Artist of the
Month’ to celebrate the skill, talent and hard work of
our Art students here at JPGS. Ms. Reohorn selected
students from her Year 9-13 classes and Ms. Sheldon
selected students from her Year 4-9 classes. Our
students produced some outstanding work. Special
mentions go to Reem Baaghil (Year 13), Aizah Ghafoor
(Year 12), Farah Bakhsh, Sara Al Saleh, Hassan Khatri,
Aiza Shaikh, and Ammar Vohra (Year 11), Jana Al Fase,
Abdul Rahman Shesha and Marya Al Barakati (Year
10), Daniela Langdon and Ariba Farrukh (Year 9).

AS & A Level Art
Students in YR12 & 13 worked incredibly hard this year
and produced some truly outstanding work. YR13 student
Reem Baaghil has received 3 offers from universities in the
UK to read Architecture. Yr12 student Aizah Ghafoor will be
studying an Art Foundation course in Bristol, UK.
