Letter from the Editor
This year I had the honour and privilege of being the
Jeddah Prep and Grammar School yearbook editor.
I decided over the summer that I would take on the
responsibility as the editor. It was a daunting task but
I do not regret taking this decision one bit. Creating,
designing and capturing pictures as well as making sure
the production is top notch can all be very stressful, but it
has been well worth it.
It takes a lot of time to get the yearbook anywhere near
completion. I had to meet deadlines and lots of work had
to be done before the page creation even began.
I had tremendous amout of help from Mr Bedford
(Headmaster) who was already familiar with how things
work, how things come together, and how to be creative
with the pages. I am grateful to the staff members of
the school who have been prompt and without their
contribution this yearbook would not have been possible.
To me, a yearbook is like a time capsule containing all the
memories that you have experienced during that school
year. Each page has a lot of effort, passion, and thought
put into it.
Lessons learnt this year are that deadlines will come up
faster than you think. If people are slacking on things
that they need to complete, don’t hesitate to tell them. If
something does not look right, fix it. It is your yearbook
and you want it to be the best it can be. Yes, it is stressful
and time consuming, but do not give up on it because it is
so worth it in the end!
Some great memories are found within the pages, but my
greatest are the ones of making this yearbook.
Sincerely,
Mrs Asra Yaldram
