Year 8
Students learnt to manifest their 2D perspective
drawings of their Gargoyles into 3D with clay work.
They followed through with dry brushing paint effects
using a base colour, high and low lights which gave an
authentic, burnished effect. Since then, students have
produced reduction prints of sugar skulls with poly
tiles and painted Frida Kahlo pastiches when looking
        at Mexican Art and artists.

        Year 9
Pop Art has seen students familiarise themselves
with artists who sought to iconise familiar people and
utility products seen in everyday life, such as Warhol
and Claus Oldenburg. The theme of ‘junk food’ saw
students use papier mache to sculpt larger than life fast
food models finished with garish, synthetic colours.

‘Student of the month Art award’ applies to all classes
and projects and is often very hard to decide with such
talent in abundance which often results in multiple
        student choices!
