Presidents Day-Phil Underwood Trophy
11th September 16’
With many of our juniors at other events on the day, it was left to Spencer Hughes & Ed Keech to fight it out for the Trophy. Spencer went
out early in the morning and shot 34pts and then had to disqualify himself for playing from the wrong tees, this left Ed with the task of just
getting round to win almost by default!! A round of 36pts did the trick despite his playing partner suggesting that he should have been dis-
James Attwood
qualified for wearing the wrong colour clothing, visiting the toilet, looking at him in a funny way etc.:)
Keech Cup
6th November 16’
The Keech Cup was resurrected this year having not being played for since 20??, the trophy was originally a match between the committee
and the juniors for bragging rights only, this time around we managed to drag many of the parents (some kicking & screaming!!) to help
contest the trophy.
The format was fourball betterball, with all wedges banned!! This was a ruling that originally only applied to the juniors but the adults took
it easy on the juniors this time by playing to the same rules.
On a wet, windy and generally sub zero day only four of the original six fourballs actually finished the full 18 with the adults running out
very close winners and ‘still’ holders of the trophy :)
NGL Junior League Team/s 2017
In previous years Kettering GC have entered only one team into the Northants Junior League, teams are made up of only four players
meaning some very talented juniors miss out on representing the club.
We are proposing entering two teams A & B, players can represent only one of these teams in the same season.
To enable us to run two teams we will need parents willing to help/run one of the teams, if you are interested in providing help please let
Darrin know, thank you.
