The Beltline
22 MILES OF CONNECTION
To support and fully realize the vision
of 22 miles of a more connected
Atlanta, the Atlanta BeltLine also
supports affordable workforce housing,
economic development, job creation,
public health, streetscapes, public art,
environmental clean-up, and historic
preservation – all with an eye towards
sustainability. Two organizations –
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and The Atlanta
BeltLine Partnership – work together
with countless partner organizations
across the city, region, state, and
country to bring the program to life.
The beauty of the Atlanta BeltLine
is that it offers not only modern
conveyances and exciting new
development, but it is a living,
breathing part of our community; not
simply a means of getting somewhere,
but a destination unto itself. It offers a
chance for Atlanta to redefine what it is
to be a neighbor, to be a community, to
be a region, and to share all that it has
to offer.
EXPANDING ON A SUCCESS
Construction on lighting along the Eastside Trail is underway and expected to be complete
in spring 2020. Trail users can expect crews to occupy portions of the trail surface in
addition to the shoulder as they work their way down the corridor. Work will take place
on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., dependent upon weather. Weekend work will only
take place if necessary. Only sections of the trail between Monroe Drive and Irwin Street
/ Lake Avenue – not the full length – will be impacted at one time. We thank you for your
patience as we make these improvements!
