          Approved Document F – Ventilation
          Purge ventilation - Is required to remove high levels of pollutants and water vapour. It may also improve
          thermal comfort and reduce overheating during the summer.

          Background ventilation (Trickle Ventilators) - It is important that the dwelling can constantly breathe -
          good indoor air quality is important for health and helps protect the fabric of the building from the
          harmful effects of condensation and mould etc.

          Approved Document J – Combustion Appliances & Fuel Storage
          Systems

          Outlets from flues need to be located to allow the dispersal of products of combustion. As such detailed
          guidance is provided on distances from openable windows to prevent the ingress of fumes.

          Approved Document K – Protection from Falling Collision &
          Impact

          Safety Glass (Toughened / Laminated Glass / Safety Wired Glass) - Protection against impact with
          glazing (glazing in critical locations & safe breakage).

          It is recommended that restrictors are always fitted to opening lights less than 800mm above floor level.
          Restrictors should initially limit the opening to 100mm.

          Note: The Maximum pane width of Safety Wired Glass in a door or side panel is 900mm
