Don Armstrong was a top American golfer during 1936 National Amateur
a 20-year span from 1927-1947. Chick Evans said Garden City Golf Club,
Long Island
he was "the best shotmaker in the Chicago
district."
Born in Aurora Illinois, Don was an avid golfer Don believed his success was linked directly to

age 21, he was the medalist in the Chicago lifetime. After retiring, he became the starter at

Amateur, one of his greatest accomplishments.
