CELEBRATING 61 YEARS…
LIKE FINE WINE, THE POINT KEEPS GETTING BETTER
While Point O’ Woods remains basically
true to its original 1958 Robert Trent
Jones design, some necessary modifica-
tions have taken place over the span of
61 years. In November of 2006, the
slope of the 9th green was reconstructed,
and an earth crossing was developed
along the lake to replace the bridge,
ultimately raising the tee box about
three feet. The project was completed in
May of 2007, to rave reviews. In 2013,
Point O’ Woods erected a new
clubhouse on the property to replace the
mid-century modern architecture of the

original structure. Finally, in 2018, the
club upgraded its logo to celebrate the
many pin oaks on the property. Only a
tweak here and a tweak there has been
made over a history dating back 61
years, yet what remains today can be
best described by a quote from Robert
Trent Jones himself, “Perhaps my best
American course.”
