Project Brief Description (206-02) 3D printer with 3D scanning

The purpose of a 3D scanner is to create a 3D model. This 3D model consists of a point cloud of geometric samples on the
surface of the object scanned. These points can then be used to extrapolate the shape of the scanned object (a process called
reconstruction). If color information is collected at each point, then the colors on the surface of the object can also be
determined.
