How we conduct business
For us, stewardship goes well beyond the balance between what we take from the environment
and what we return to it. We conduct internal audits at our owned facilities each year in order to
evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of all our Environmental Management System. Doing so
ensures that we deliver on our commitment to employees, customers and all other stakeholders, as
well as comply with the laws and regulations of the communities we call home.

            Tread lightly on the earth
As a growing population puts ever more pressure on the earth’s finite resources, we believe that
we must do more than comply with environmental regulations to preserve the planet and its
inhabitants. To make a genuine impact, Gildan is committed to developing and implementing
innovative solutions that reduce our environmental footprint throughout our entire supply
chain, improve the lives of those who work for us or live near us, and ensure our long-term
            competitiveness.

Since 2010, Gildan has decreased its GHG emissions intensity by 45%. In 2013, we achieved our 2015
GHG reduction goal ahead of schedule with a 32% reduction of GHG emissions intensity resulting
from our owned operations, per kg of product (20% reduction goal when compared to our 2010
baseline). In 2014, we continued to exceed our GHG goal by reducing GHG emissions by 45% when
compared to the 2010 baseline. We mainly attribute our continuous GHG emissions decrease to the
gradual conversion from bunker fuel to biomass. We recycled 90% of our total waste.
