What a year this has been! Early on, in March, as the pandemic started spreading and the country went into total
lockdown, we were looking at a range of uncertainties. When will this end? When can we go out without worry again?
When will a vaccine be available? Well, we are in the final quarter of the year now and still no closer to the answers.
However, a lot has changed since then.
The lockdown was and continues to be, an inconvenience. However, it has also brought out a variety of talents from within
us and the people around. We started investing in those talents and gradually became quite good at them! Every other
day, we were discovering new writers, painters, chefs, sing-ers and more who took to various platforms to unfurl their new
wings, and speaking of platforms, that’s what Kolaj is and has always been!
Soumalya Chakraborty Kolaj started its journey 12 years ago with a vision to give the budding content creators in Hyderabad and beyond, a
medium through which their work could reach a global audience. We at team Kolaj continue to uphold that spirit and what
Editor, English Section could be a better example of it than the edition this year, when we are seeing such an abundance of awesome content?
As expected, we received an overwhelming response with the number of submissions breaking all previous records! It was
Kolaj Editorial, 2020 really tough for the editorial team to give precedence to one over the other and we have tried to accommodate as many
submissions as possible. Finally, I am extremely proud of the collection we are bringing you today as I am sure Kolaj 2020 can
give every other renowned “Pujabarshiki” a run for their money.
I’d like to end by thanking the editorial team, the team of illustrators who’ve designed the magazine and brought you the
various creatives and videos, the team of coordinators who relentlessly worked to ensure everything happened as sched-
uled and every piece of the puzzle fell into place. Above all, a HUGE thanks to all of you who have blessed Kolaj with your
amazing contributions. I stand hum-bled before your many talents and hope you’ll be with us every year.
