TA: On Creating The Movement
Pastoral Theologian
FKS: The term The Movement actually came from a listener. I opened
my show up by inviting my listeners to come up with ideas for a name
for the show. I initially wanted to call it ‘Street Therapy’ since I’m a Radio Personality
therapist and a pastor. I felt that summed up what I did on the show WAOK-AM
which was to take therapy to the streets for people. Later on, we had a
listener to call in and said that this is more than just a radio talk
show… this is a movement! Immediately I said I like that name (LOL) Member - Omega
The Movement. Let’s call it The Movement and that’s how the name Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
came about.

TA: So what is next for The Movement?

FKS: You know, I have no idea what is next for The Movement or
CM
what GOD got planned for me. I never really even planned to do
MY
radio but here I am. Again, I have no idea of what windows and doors
CY
GOD will have for me on this crusade. I am on the air because I just
CMY
want to bring a sense of love, respect and dignity to the lives of black
K
people. I have a saying that I say all the time which is, “I just want to
make "black normal." I figure its OK for us to be who we are and I
want to make people feel comfortable. The Movement is loving the
whole person and respecting the integrity of the wholeness of us as
human beings and that’s what I am pushing because I sell hope I don't
sell dope (smile).
