Ferry terminal at Barangaroo rejected
at Greenwich
BY OUR CHIEF CIVIC ROUNDSMAN
Greenwich residents overwhelmingly voted down a Transdev
proposal to terminate ferries at Barangaroo instead of Circular
Quay at last Wednesday’s special meeting at Greenwich Commu-
nity Centre.
(8hb 3 cols)
The packed hall supported a motion to say:
1. Transdev’s consultation process did not provide adequate de-
tail of changes at key locations, required those who wished to
comment through its consultation interface to navigate an un-
necessarily complex process and did not allow adequate time for
meaningful community engagement
2. Barangaroo is not a major transport interchange.
Public transport links :
(a) are not adjacent to the ferry wharf
(b) require commuters to walk distances that will add signifi-
cantly to travel times
(c) are not easily accessible to less mobile members of the
community.
3. We request that the current F8 ferry route be maintained and
that a stop at Barangaroo be added to the route at peak times. Greenwich Community Association annual general meeting followed last Wednesday’s special
ferry meeting at Greenwich Community Centre. Executive elected at the meeting pictured with
