Let’s Spell
FOR SAMPLE ONLY
A. Here is a list of words that people often misspell. Six are

spelled wrongly here. Can you identify the mistakes?
appearance enviroment possible arguement
exellent probabaly balance exprience

quantity familiar begginning believe

B. Work in groups and play the spelling race for 15 minutes or

allowing each member a chance to spell a word.
Instructions:
1) Divide the class into two teams and let the students stand at the back
of the class.
2) On the board, write Team A and Team B (or the names of the teams).
3) One person from each team takes a piece of chalk or a marker in
hand.
4) The teacher reads a spelling word. The two students must run to the

board and write that word on the board.
5) The first person to finish spelling the word correctly gets a point for
that team.
6) The team with the most points wins.
