5.3. Read the following sentences and note the use of because
and because of.
a. I am late because the traffic was huge.
b. I am late because of the huge traffic.
c. She found the exam easy because she had worked
hard during the course.
d. She found the exam easy because of her hard work
during the course.
e. They shifted to Phidim because of their job.
f. They shifted to Phidim because they each got a job
there.
Because and because of are connectives.
They are used to connect an action with its reason or cause.
Because is used with a complete sentence and because of is used
with a noun phrase.
Both of them are placed before the reason clause.
5.4. Use because or because of to complete the sentences
below.
a. He crashed his car ..................... he was driving too fast.
