It had been a week since the swan left. Then on a cold chilly
night my door was knocked gently to get me out of my warm
bed. I opened the door only to be surprised by the presence
of a beautiful lady there. She spoke, “My name is Anglea. I lost
my way. I shall be grateful if you allow me to spend the night in
your hut.” I was soon ready to make her grateful.
In the morning before I woke up, Angela had cleaned up the
entire place and was busy preparing my meal. When I returned
home in the evening, I was amazed to see my dinner and bed
ready. After I had taken my dinner, she came to me and said, “I
am an orphan and have no place to go. Would you take me as
your wife?” I had already been fascinated by her beauty and that
I was lonely too, I accepted before
she had the chance to finish.
We got married and lived happily
for years. She proved to be the
best wife a person could have. One
day she said, “Please bring me a
porter’s wheel. I’ll make pots for
you in my free time. You can sell
them in the market.” I agreed. She
made me promise that I would not
