               •  Increasingly, evolved views of food acknowledge that food is
                sacred and gives life force energy for human survival, honoring
                the sacred source of all food and water.
               •  The Caritas Nurse honors the sacred dimensions of eating and its
                range of symbolic and actual meanings from within the subjec-
                tive experiences of the one-being-cared-for.
               •  In addition to Carative Factor (CF) 9 related to assisting with
                human needs, other CF/Caritas Processes with this specific need
                include numbers 4: developing a helping-trusting-caring relation-
                ship; 5: promoting and accepting the expression of positive and
                negative feelings; and 7: teaching and learning that address indi-
                vidual needs, styles, and readiness.
