It is hoped that this continuing work will arouse a remembering
of why you entered this field, reconnecting with what is keeping you
involved and the knowledge, values, and practices that are essential if
you, other nurses, and nursing itself are to sustain the enduring and
timeless gift of offering informed, moral, knowledgeable, compas-
sionate human caring-healing services to sustain humanity in our daily
work and in the world.
I am truly honored and blessed because you are part of my jour-
