                      1. Inspection of the skin for abrasions, oedema, discoloration, or

                             exposed wound edges.









                      2. Exposed wounds or open abrasions should be covered with a


                             sterile dressing.









                      3. Inspect the underlying dressing and if soiled it must be changed.
