Going Shopping

I got my allowance today,
For doing all my chores
So I grabbed my dad and ran to the car
And said, “Let’s go to the store!”
I decided to get myself some brand new clothes
As we walked in, my dad said, So I got socks and shoes,
“Get anything you want.” Pants and suits,
So I raced through the aisles, I got them all because I couldn't choose.
I didn’t know where to start!
I then remembered mom,
I ran to the ice cream aisle, So I decided to get her some perfume
And got five of each flavour they had But I didn’t know which one to get
Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, So I got one of each, and an extra too.
And Rocky road for my dad.
I went to checkout,
And I raced to the toy aisle, My cart overflowing with stuff
To get some things to play My dad looked at me and said,
A box of blocks, a set of toy trains, “Don’t you think that’s a little too much?”
A new phone, computer, and video games.
It took two hours to ring up
Four hundred dollars and seventy-five cents was final the sum
I took out my wallet, frowned a little,
And walked out with just a package of gum.
