1 Greet client and introduce self

3 Perform hand hygiene

4 Instruct patient to sit on a chair or sit on the bed.

Instruct patient to attach the mouthpiece to peak flow meter, if

desired.

6 Slide indicator to bottom of meter scale to zero position

Have patient to hold the peak flow meter horizontally without
7
blocking the markers / pointer

Instruct patient to inhale as deeply as possible, and place
8
mouth around the mouthpiece, forming a tight seal.
